Giraffe Award

‘Stretch’ - is part of the Senior ‘Giraffe Award’ - ‘For sticking their neck out!’.  He is looked after for the week by a student in Y4-6 who has demonstrated high achievement or effort in self confidence, getting along, personal organisation, resilience or persistence.  (You Can Do It Programme).

The student also receives a special certificate and a standing ovation from the senior school.  But wait there’s more….  They also have their photo in the newsletter and the principal rings their parents to congratulate them too!

Interschool Hockey Tournament at Saxton Field

The Yr 5/6 Girls Team retained the Hockey Trophy.

Wow what an amazing day it was for the girls, boys and mixed Tahunanui Hockey teams.  It was a full on day.  We left at 8.50am and came back to school at 2.45pm.  The girls came 1st, the boys came 2nd and the mixed team came 3rd in their grades.  No goal was scored against us.  Our defence was amazing!  We scored 7 goals against Motupipi, 1 goal against Henley, 4 goals against Richmond and in the finals 3 goals against Hampden Street.  It was an amazing effort so well done Tahunanui.  A big thanks to all the parents, it could not have happened without you, and to our coach Mrs Beyer-Rieger.       -  by Emma-Lea, Tayla and Ruby
